Take a tour of the renovated Victorian homes on Fort King Street, named after the Fort King military post built prior to the Second Seminole War of Florida.  This street runs right through the historic district of Ocala. Stroll through the four-acre Veterans Memorial Park that honors the memory of  Florida veterans and serves as a gathering place for special celebrations. Enjoy the beauty of theSilver River, most of which is now a state park. Its riverbed has long been known as a source for Indian  artifacts. The history of this city will reveal itself at every turn.
